Joseph S. Attia founded Xcelerated Equity Advisors® after more than 20 years building, operating, investing in, and exiting businesses. Simply stated, he helps create businesses that are predictable, sustainable, and transferable.
For many founders and owners, the business still depends too heavily on them. They may own the company, but in practice they have created a demanding job for themselves. Turning that job into a business that can operate, grow, and create value without constant owner involvement can improve both the company and the owner’s life.
The goal is not simply to prepare a business for an exit. It is to build a larger, more valuable business that requires less of the owner and can be transferred if and when the owner chooses. Owners do not always control the timing. Death, disability, disease, divorce, dispute, distress, downturn, or an unexpected departure can force a transition. A business that is less dependent on its owner is better prepared for all of them.
The best outcome is a business that becomes more valuable while the owner works less, carries less stress, and has more freedom. That is what reducing owner dependence is supposed to accomplish.
